Play-Based Learning at Tiny Learners Daycare

Tiny Learners Daycare uses a play-based, Reggio-inspired approach within the BC Early Learning Framework. Educators follow children’s questions and interests, and each day is planned around four strands:

• Explorers — curiosity, science and discovery
• Thinkers — language, early literacy and numbers
• Makers — art, music and self-expression
• Friends — social and emotional skills

Children go outside for two outdoor play blocks a day in nearly all weather. Daily plans are documented, and parents get photo and written updates about their child’s day.
