Large Tutoring is a Vancouver-based tutoring company that matches students in Grades K–12, AP and IB courses, and university with a one-on-one tutor — online or in person — across Vancouver, the Lower Mainland and the rest of British Columbia. It was founded in 2017 by Clinton Large and has grown to a team of more than 30 tutors.
Tutors are working professionals or graduate students from UBC, SFU and other universities, and each student is matched to one after a free intake call rather than assigned from a queue. Sessions run by video call or in person — at home, at a library, or at a café — and cover STEM subjects such as math, physics, chemistry and biology, alongside English, French, Language Arts, the humanities and the social sciences. Every session is built around the student’s own course material, assignments and deadlines.

Frequently Asked Questions
What grades does Large Tutoring teach?
Large Tutoring works with students from elementary school through Grade 12 and on into university. High school is the core of the practice — including the AP and IB streams — but elementary support and first-year university coursework are both available.
What subjects does Large Tutoring cover?
STEM subjects — math, physics, chemistry, biology and computing — plus English, French, Language Arts, the humanities and the social sciences. If a subject falls outside the current roster, the intake call will say so rather than assigning a mismatched tutor.
Does Large Tutoring offer online tutoring?
Yes. Sessions run by video call anywhere in British Columbia, which is how students outside Metro Vancouver are served.
Where does Large Tutoring tutor in person?
In-person tutoring is available across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland — at a student’s home, a public library, or a café, whichever suits the family.
How much does Large Tutoring cost?
Large Tutoring does not publish a fixed hourly rate. Pricing depends on the subject, grade level and format, and is confirmed on a free intake call before any session is booked. Call 778-325-4357 or email hello@largetutoring.com for a quote.
How are students matched with a tutor?
Every family starts with a free intake call covering the student’s course, goals and sticking points. A tutor is then chosen for that specific fit rather than pulled from a queue.
Can Large Tutoring help with AP and IB courses?
Yes — AP and IB support is one of the company’s stated specialties, covering coursework through to exam preparation.
Does Large Tutoring help with university applications?
Yes. Alongside first-year and upper-year coursework, Large Tutoring offers post-secondary application coaching for students applying to university.
How do I book a first session?
Contact Large Tutoring at hello@largetutoring.com or 778-325-4357 to arrange the free intake call.
